Ivanovic vs Goerges

Ivanovic and  Goerges have met three times in the past on tour with Ivanovic holding a slight lead on head-to-heads at 2-1. Goerges is the improving player however as she is up to world number 16 on tour and she won their last match from WTA Luxembourg in 2010. Tuesday's match will be the first time that the two players will meet on the grass courts and it will also be the first time that they will meet in a match where the German is the higher ranked player.

Ivanovic was looking great for a title last week on the grass courts of WTA Birmingham as she made it to the semifinals of that draw and won the first set in that semifinal. However her opponent, Daniela Hantuchova came roaring back in the match before falling herself to Sabine Lisicki in the final. Goerges has not played a match on grass yet this season and that might hurt her chances a little against the better prepared Ivanovic. Goerges had a great clay court season by her standards, one that included a title in Stuttgart and a win over world number one Caroline Wozniacki, but what to expect from her on grass this year is not yet clear.
